Canal+World is an alternate way to engage with streaming designed in response to the Canal+ D&AD 2026 brief.
Overview
Reimagining streaming.
Canal+World reimagines streaming as a journey. Through an interactive globe, users can explore countries and discover films, series, and documentaries from all around the world. By treating stories as destinations, the platform encourages discovery, broadens perspectives, and shines a light on stories often overlooked by traditional streaming.
Research
Understanding Canal+.
I began by researching Canal+ to understand its brand, tone of voice, and positioning within the streaming market. I then explored TV formats, storytelling techniques, and existing platforms to identify opportunities using an opportunity solution tree. User interviews informed the creation of personas, while competitor analysis provided insight into current industry approaches. These findings shaped the development of my final concept, Canal+World
Design
Designing Canal+World
I began with wireframes to map the flow of Canal+World, refining the design through iterative prototyping and user testing. The final experience centres on a globe-based navigation system, allowing users to explore content by spinning the globe and selecting countries. Each destination is visually tailored to reflect its identity, reinforcing the overall concept of travelling around the world.
Delivery
Making the promo video.
As part of my D&AD submission, I created a promotional video for Canal+World. I wanted to create a video that was both entertaining and captures people’s attention while clearly explaining the features of my idea.
